The Joy in Suffering

Contrary to earth logic and thought, there is great freedom that comes with submission to pain and suffering . . . freedom that cannot be reached any other way. . . through acceptance and trust and submission. James 1:2-4 Count it all joy, my brothers, when you meet trials of various kinds, for you know that the testing of your faith produces steadfastness. And let steadfastness have its full effect, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. 1 Peter 4:13 But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. Psalm 34:18 The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit. Psalm 94:18-19 When I thought, “My foot slips,” your steadfast love, O Lord, held me up. When the cares of my heart are many, your consolations cheer my soul. Psalm 40:1 I waited patiently for the Lord; he inclined to me and heard my cry. 2 He drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. 3 He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord.

Hebrews 12:2:10 For they disciplined us for a little while as seemed good to them, but he does so for our benefit, that we may share his holiness Titus 2:2:14 He gave himself for us to set us free from every kind of lawlessness and to purify for himself a people who are truly his, who are eager to do good Revelation 19:7 Let us rejoice and celebrate and give Him the glory. For the marriage of the Lamb has come, and His bride has made herself ready. 8 She was given clothing of fine linen, linen bright and pure.” For the fine linen she wears is the righteous acts of the saints.…. 2 Corinthians 1:3 Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of mercies and God of all comfort, 4 who comforts us in all our affliction, so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction, with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God. 5 For as we share abundantly in Christ’s sufferings, so through Christ we share abundantly in comfort too.

Everything I put on your plate is Good

I give you fullness of life . . . a full plate that contains food of all types . . . some sweet, some salty . . . some sour, some bitter. All My food is good if received with thanksgiving. Even the bitter and sour foods have their purpose for you. How can you have compassion on those who have eaten a lot of unsavory food, if you have only eaten sweet? How will you know peace and submission and contentment in all circumstances, if you have only eaten pleasant food? How will you learn long-suffering and trust, if you have only had dessert? Unsavory food can be purifying, if eaten with thanksgiving and trust and acceptance. I bring all good gifts to the table. My ways are not your ways. Taste all I bring and you will see in the end that I Am Good. I Love you! We eat together. Deuteronomy 32:4 The Rock, his work is perfect, for all his ways are justice. Phil 4-11   . . . 6 do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God. 7 And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. . . Intrusive Love

If someone that you love is not hungry for love then you must not offer your affections and expressions of your love to them. Love them secretly. Love them through support. Love them through prayers. But the volume of your love must be hidden. Why? When a loveless heart doesn’t want love at this time, the love that you offer can’t be returned. Love in itself requires a response. It requires acceptance and return of love. It requires humility and truth. When you offer love to someone who isn’t hungry for love and has none to return, then your love makes them feel awkward and uncomfortable. They feel the need to distance themselves from your love. Your love feels intrusive. The best way to serve the one you love who is not interested in being loved is to give them very small bites of your love at a time. Feed them drops and keep the well hidden. 1 Corinthians 13:4 Love is patient
