Insights on Intimacy
The more intimate two people are, the less they communicate about temporary, shallow, surface-level things. As their intimacy grows, their understanding of each other grows. Their trust in each other grows. Their desire for union with each other grows. Their conversation is limited to the most deeply personal subjects. Fewer words are needed as they can finish each other’s thoughts. Their beings become as one. John 10:30 My Father who has given them to Me is greater than all. No one can snatch them out of My Father’s hand. James 4:8 Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. . . Ephesians 3:12 In Him and through faith in Him we may enter God’s presence with boldness and confidence. Revelation 3:20 Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in and dine with him, and he with Me.
