MERCY – Deep Waters
To have mercy on someone means much more than withholding punishment from them. To have mercy on someone is to look far below the surface level of things. Look deeply below the exterior. There you will see Truth. There you will see not only the bare naked soul of the one who sinned but also your own bare naked soul. When you then begin to swim in these deep waters much more will be revealed to you. Titus 3:5 He saved us, not because of righteous things we had done, but because of His mercy. He saved us through the washing of rebirth and renewal by the Holy Spirit 1 Peter 1:3 Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, Luke 17:4 Even if he sins against you seven times in a day, and seven times returns to say, I repent, you must forgive him. Micah 6:8 He has shown you, O mankind, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God? John 8:7 He has shown you, O mankind, what is good. And what does the LORD require of you but to act justly, to love mercy, and to walk humbly with your God?
