Letters to Pearl

Parable of a King

“Suppose there was a woman who lived in a kingdom where there was a powerful and very good king.  Those who lived in His kingdom enjoyed peace and security.

One day four men came into the kingdom.  They each claimed to also be the king of the land.  They went from village to village introducing themselves and claiming to be king. Many in the land were convinced that they also had the right to the throne.

The woman went to visit the Real King and talk with Him about her debts that she could not pay.  The Real King was very kind and welcomed her into the throne room.  He comforted her and told her that He would pay her debts for her.  She was so grateful.  The Real King then asked her if she had met the impostors who also claimed to be king.  She said, “Oh yes!  I think they are wonderful and I want them to be king also.”

Would not the Real King then say to the woman, “You must leave My Kingdom.  You are not a true citizen of this Land.  Your loyalty belongs to others, not to Me.  Therefore, you must go to the land from which the impostors came. It is the Land of Lies. You cannot serve both Me and those liars. You must leave before you spread their lies and endanger the lives of my true citizens.”

Choose who you will serve.  You cannot serve more than one Master.  That is not possible.  Either you serve the One and Only True King or you serve the impostors.  There is no middle ground.  There is no split-loyalty.  The father of lies disguises himself as an angel of light.  Know whom you are serving.”
